The “Art Gallery Hotel” is an internationally renowned family Hotel centrally located in a pleasant residential area, just a few minutes walking distance to the Acropolis, the area of Plaka (the old city) and about 15 minutes to Syntagma, Athens' main central square. The area is representative of local Athens life and can serve as a starting point for “historic” city walks, visits and shopping with an attractive pedestrian alley full of cafes, tavernas and restaurants just across the corner. The name “Art Gallery" has its origins in the latest half of the previous century, where one of the country's finest lady artist, Dora Bouki, member of the family, lived and worked here. Her work as an impressionist painter has enjoyed vast positive critics with local and international exhibitions for over fourty years. Many of her paintings still decorate the Hotel. The “Art Gallery Hotel" was recently renovated with great care to keep its old flair. Wooden floors, marble stairs and the old family furniture have been preserved by architect Yannis Assimacopoulos, one of the Hotel owners.
